Medical Description
Telkonol H tablet is an antihypertensive medication that has telmisartan and hydrochlorothiazide. It is used to manage high blood pressure, especially when treatment with a single medicine is insufficient. Telmisartan functions by relaxing your blood vessels, which helps to lower your blood pressure. Hydrochlorothiazide is a diuretic that works by increasing urinary output, thereby reducing fluid retention in the body and contributing to blood pressure reduction. By acting together, these two components provide enhanced control over high blood pressure.
It is crucial to take Telkonol H Tablet exactly as your doctor has directed. You should swallow the tablet whole with water, and it can be taken with or without food. For optimal blood pressure management, it is recommended to take your medication at the same time each day. High blood pressure is a serious condition that can lead to severe complications affecting your brain, heart, blood vessels, and kidneys if not properly managed. Never miss a dose or stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor first.
Adopting certain lifestyle modifications is strongly advised for better blood pressure control. This includes following a diet low in fat and salt, maintaining a healthy weight, exercising for at least 30 minutes daily, avoiding smoking, and limiting your alcohol intake. Avoiding alcohol is particularly important as it can cause a significant drop in blood pressure, dizziness, or even unconsciousness when combined with Telkonol H tablet.
