Medical Description
Tagrisso tablet contains osimertinib, an anticancer medicine.It is used to treat metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). It is a prescription medicine and must be taken as advised by the doctor.
Uses
- Non-small cell lung cancer
Contraindications
- Allergy to osimertinib or any ingredients of Tagrisso tablet
- St. John’s Wort should not be used together with this tablet

Other General Warnings
- You have lung or breathing problems.
- You have heart problems, including a condition called prolonged QTc
- You have problems with your electrolytes, such as sodium, potassium, calcium or magnesium.
- You have a history of eye problems.
- You are pregnant or plan to become pregnant. Tagrisso tablet can harm an unborn baby.
- You are taking any other medications, including prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, or herbal supplements, especially heart or blood pressure-controlling medicines.
- Inform your doctor right away if you become pregnant during treatment with Tagrisso tablet.
- Females who are able to become pregnant should use effective birth control during treatment with Tagrisso tablet and for 6 weeks after the final dose.
- Males who have female partners that can become pregnant should use effective birth control during treatment with Tagrisso tablet and for 4 months after the final dose.
- Do not breastfeed during treatment and for 2 weeks after your final dose.
- Inform your doctor immediately if you develop a new fever or fever that does not go away, easy bruising or bleeding that will not stop, unusually pale skin, infection, tiredness, or weakness.
Directions for Use
- Take Tagrisso tablet as prescribed by your doctor
- Do not stop medication or modify dosage by yourself
- Report any side effects to your doctor immediately
- Swallow the tablets whole. Do not chew, crush, dissolve, or divide the tablets
- You can take the tablets with or without food
Storage and disposal
- Store at 20-25°C.
- Store in the original bottle to protect it from moisture and away from sunlight.
- Ensure that it is out of sight and reach of minors.
- Do not use the tablets after the expiry date.
- Do not throw the leftover medicine away in the garbage or flush it down the drain. Ask the pharmacist how to dispose of old medications correctly.
