Only a small amount is taken up through the skin. Even so, check with your doctor before using Soframax cream if you are pregnant or planning a pregnancy.

Breast Feeding

Breast Feeding

Speak to your doctor before using Soframax cream while breastfeeding. If you apply it near the chest, clean the area before feeding your baby.

Driving

Driving

Alcohol

Alcohol

Directions for Use

Soframax cream is for external use only. Clean and dry the affected area, then apply a thin layer over it, or as directed by your doctor. Do not cover it with an airtight dressing unless told to. Keep it away from your eyes, mouth and nose, and rinse with water if it gets there by accident. Wash your hands after applying it.

Storage and disposal

Store Soframax cream in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat. Keep the tube tightly closed. Keep it out of the reach of children. Do not use it after the expiry date, and throw away any leftover cream safely.

Quick Tips

  • Use it exactly as your doctor advises.
  • Apply only a thin layer on the affected area.
  • Tell your doctor if the infection has not improved in about a week.
  • Keep it away from your eyes, nose and mouth.

Dosage

Overdose

Using extra Soframax cream on the skin is unlikely to cause harm. If someone swallows it by accident, or if you think you have used too much of this medicine, contact your doctor immediately or visit the nearest hospital.

Missed a Dose

If you forget to apply Soframax cream, apply it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. Do not apply a double dose to make up for the missed one.

How does this medicine work?

Fradiomycin is an antibiotic that works on the skin. Soframax cream stops the bacteria causing the infection from growing and multiplying, which lets the affected skin settle and heal.

Interactions

Interactions with other medicines

Some medicines can change the way other medicines work. Because Soframax cream is applied to the skin, little enters the body, so it is unlikely to affect medicines you take by mouth. Tell your doctor about all the medicines, vitamins or herbal products you are using. In particular, mention any other creams, ointments or antibiotics you apply to the same area of skin.
