Medical Description
Satrogyl-O dry syrup is used for certain bacterial and parasitic intestinal infections that cause diarrhoea or dysentery. It contains a combination of satranidazole and ofloxacin, medicines that act against susceptible infection-causing organisms. Satranidazole damages the genetic material of susceptible bacteria and parasites, while ofloxacin interferes with bacterial growth. The dry syrup is prepared, shaken and measured for use by mouth with the device supplied in the pack. Use it only when prescribed for the diagnosed infection, and drink suitable fluids during diarrhoea to reduce dehydration.
