Sandostatin 0.1mg Injection 1ml
Sandostatin 0.1 MG Description
Sandostatin Injection contains octreotide as the active substance. Octreotide is derived from somatostatin. Somatostatin is normally found in the human body, where it prevents the release of certain
hormones such as the growth hormone. Sandostatin Injection is used to treat acromegaly, a condition where the body produces too much growth hormone. This medicine is also used to relieve symptoms associated with the overproduction of some specific hormones and other related substances by the stomach, bowels or pancreas. It is also used to treat neuroendocrine tumours located in the gut (appendix, small intestine or colon) and pituitary tumours that produce too much thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH). Sandostatin Injection will be given to you by your doctor or nurse. Do not self-inject it. Before starting this medicine, inform your doctor if you are pregnant/breastfeeding and about your complete medical history.
