This medication works by stimulating your body to release a hormone called erythropoietin, which helps regulate the production of red blood cells in your body. It's important to use Rytstat tablet under the supervision of a healthcare professional.

Mode of Action

How Does It Work?

Chronic kidney disease can cause a reduction in the production of erythropoietin, which is a substance that stimulates the bone marrow to produce red blood cells. Desidustat is a medication that assists in stimulating erythropoietin production by targeting an enzyme that usually breaks down a molecule called HIF (hypoxia-inducible factor). HIF is responsible for sensing low oxygen levels in the body and triggering erythropoietin production. By protecting HIF, Desidustat indirectly increases erythropoietin and red blood cell production.
