Mode of Action of Refid Plus Bottle Of 100ml Syrup
How Does It Work?
Ambroxol component of the medicine acts by improving flow of mucus in the airways by stimulating production of certain chemicals and activity of cells in the airways. Terbutaline dilates the airways in the lungs and increases clearance of mucus. Guaiphenesin causes increase in secretion from the respiratory tract and reduces viscosity of fluids secreted from there. In effect, they help relieve mucus and cough from the airways....
Directions for Use of Refid Plus Bottle Of 100ml Syrup
- Take the syrup at the exact time and frequency suggested by the doctor
- Avoid taking more or less than the amount prescribed
- In case you suffer from any other conditions, dose may be needed to be adjusted
- It may be taken before of after meals
- Do not stop taking it even if you feel relieved unless the doctor asks you to
Interactions of Refid Plus Bottle Of 100ml Syrup
Interactions with other medicines
- If a lab test involving urine collection is done within 24 hours after guaiphenesin is administered, it may cause interference in the test results
- Using other medicines with Refid plus that relieve cough can cause problems in coughing up the mucous
- Action of terbutaline on blood vessels may be enhances unnecessarily if given with monoamine oxidase inhibitors or antidepressants
- Amoxicillin, cefuroxime and erythromycin, if given with refid plus, may be secreted into lung mucous
- Giving this syrup with corticosteroids, xanthine derivative medications or diuretics can cause greater reduction in blood potassium levels
- Propranolol or other medicines of beta blocker category may stop the effect of terbutaline

Store in a cool dark place in the carton, do not let children get hold of it.
Dosage of Refid Plus Bottle Of 100ml Syrup
Overdose
In case you take more than what has been prescribed, ask the doctor immediately. If you notice any symptoms, go to a clinic first and take the bottle with you.
