Q Mind 25 MG Description

Q Mind is a prescription medication. It is an anti-psychotic medicine used to treat schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. The active component of Q Mind is Quetiapine. Schizophrenia is a disorder whe

re patients have an altered perception of reality, affecting how they feel, think and behave. They can present with hallucinations, delusions, altered perceptions, mood changes, disorderly thinking: all of which can be debilitating. There are certain chemical messengers (neurotransmitters) and pathways in the brain that are thought to produce the symptoms of schizophrenia, two being serotonin and dopamine. Anti-psychotic medications primarily decrease this process, thereby producing relief from symptoms. Q Mind should be taken as recommended by the doctor. Abruptly stopping this medicine can cause worsening of symptoms.

Interactions with other medicines

Enzyme inhibitors like Ketoconazole and Ritonavir increase the concentration of Quetiapine and can increase side effects.
Enzyme inducers like Phenytoin and Rifampin can decrease medication availability, decreasing its efficacy.
Concomitant use with these medications requires dose modification for Quetiapine; hence inform your doctor about your treatment history at the time of prescription.
