Medical Description

Proxtl CV tablet is a combination of two medicine, cefpodoxime and clavulanic acid. The medication is intended for the treatment of respiratory tract infections. It has also been beneficial in treating urinary tract infections, skin structure infections, maxillary sinusitis, and pneumonia. Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, stomach pain, and headache. The dose of the duration of this medicine varies among individuals depending on the severity and condition it is being used for. Do not take more than the prescribed dose of medication within 24 hours. If you observe any severe symptoms or have overdosed on the medication, contact your physician immediately or rush to the nearest hospital.

Missed a Dose

Proxtl CV tablet contains cefpodoxime, which inhibits the bacterial cell wall synthesis, and clavulanic acid is a beta-lactamase inhibitor that prevents the bacterial resistance and prevents the breakdown of cefpodoxime by the bacteria.

  • Proxtl Cv tablet when taken with antacids, probenecid, and nephrotoxic medication may affect the functioning of the kidney

After administering Proxtl CV tablet, the medication starts exerting its effect in one to two hours. However, you can notice the result after a few days.

Take Proxtl CV tablet as prescribed by your doctor; the duration can be five to seven days or more, depending on your infection. If your symptoms are still there or there is no improvement in your condition, report to your doctor immediately.

Proxtl CV tablet is an antibiotic, and like other antibiotics, completing the course is necessary to treat the infection completely and prevent relapse. Hence, do not stop this medication if you feel well, consult your doctor if you feel well and have no symptoms.
