Pantopal 40mg Tab uses include various conditions such as ulcers in the stomach, ulcers in the first part of the intestine, stomach infection (Helicobacter pylori infection), heartburn, acid regurgitation, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome
Contraindications of Pantopal 40mg Tab
Pantopal 40mg Tab is contraindicated in the following conditions: if allergic to pantoprazole or its components, if taking rilpivirine or atazanavir or other anti-HIV medications, if taking methotrexate, if diagnosed or at risk of stomach cancer

Pantopal 40mg Tab side effects are adverse, such as headache, constipation, diarrhoea with flatulence, dry mouth, sore throat, skin rashes, headache, tiredness, blistering of the skin, altered taste sensation, jaundice, blurred vision

How Does It Work?
Proton pump inhibitors act on the proton pumps present in the stomach, which are responsible for the production of acid. They bind to them and block the secretion of acids by the stomach. Hence, they are used in conditions of excess acidity.

Always take this medicine as per the prescription of your physician. Do not alter the dose by yourself. You can confirm its usage by the pharmacist. Drink plenty of water and keep hydrated. Do not stop taking Pantopal 40mg Tab dosage before your prescribed duration.

Interactions with other medicines
Avoid Pantopal 40mg Tab if you are taking medicines such as itraconazole or ketoconazole (used to treat fungal infections), erlotinib or methotrexate (used in the treatment of cancer) or anti-HIV drugs such as nelfinavir, tenofovir, atazanavir or rilpivirine. Also, inform your doctor if you are on any blood thinning or thickening drugs such as warfarin or phenprocoumon.
Interactions with food items
Take Pantopal 40mg Tab in the morning on an empty stomach. There is no interaction with food or beverages. However, avoid caffeinated drinks and nicotine as it can increase the production of gastric acid.
