Pantopal 20mg Tab uses include various conditions such as ulcers in the stomach, ulcers in first part of the intestine, stomach infection (Helicobacter pylori infection), heartburn, acid regurgitation, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.
Contraindications of Pantopal 20mg Tab
Pantopal 20mg Tab is contraindicated in the following conditions: if allergic to pantoprazole or its components, if taking rilpivirine or atazanavir or other anti-HIV medications, methotrexate, if diagnosed or at risk of stomach cancer

How Does It Work?
Proton pump inhibitors act on the proton pumps present in the stomach, which are responsible for the production of stomach acid. They bind to them and stop the secretion of acids by the stomach. Hence, they are used in conditions of excess acidity.

Take this medicine as per your physician's advice. Do not alter the dose by yourself. You can confirm its usage by the pharmacist. Do not stop taking the medicine before your prescribed duration.

Interactions with other medicines
Avoid Pantopal 20mg Tab if you are taking medicines such as itraconazole or ketoconazole (used to treat fungal infections), erlotinib or methotrexate (used in the treatment of cancer) or anti-HIV drugs such as nelfinavir, tenofovir, atazanavir or rilpivirine. Also inform your doctor if you are on any blood thinning or thickening medicines such as warfarin or phenprocoumon.

Take Pantopal 20mg Tab on an empty stomach in the morning. There is no interaction with food or beverages. However, avoid caffeinated drinks, nicotine and alcohol as it can increase the production of gastric acid.
