- If you are allergic to any component of Otocin D Eye/Ear Drop.
- If you have varicella, herpes, HIV, tuberculosis or any other viral or fungal infection of the eye and ear.

How Does It Work?
- Otocin D Eye/Ear Drop are a combination of two antibiotics (Polymyxin B and Chloramphenicol) and one steroid medicine (Dexamethasone).
- Antibiotics kill the bacteria and control the infection, while the steroid component of Otocin D Eye/Ear Drop reduces the redness, pain, swelling and discomfort caused due to the infection.
Interactions
Interactions with other medicines
- Since Otocin D Eye/Ear Drop is to be used externally, it is less likely to interact with other medicines. However, consult your doctor if you are taking other medicines for treating other health conditions.
- Especially if you are already using any other eye or ear drops.
- Concomitant use of Otocin D Eye/Ear Drop with atropine or phosphate-containing eye and ear medicines should be done with caution.
- Medicines such as Phenytoin, Phenobarbitone, Ephedrine and Rifampicin may reduce the effect of Ocupol DX Drops.
- Otocin D Eye/Ear Drop can reduce the action of salicylate medicines.
