Ornida 500 MG Description
Ornida Tablet is an antibiotic medicine. It is used for the treatment of bacterial and protozoal infections of different body parts like the stomach, liver, intestine, brain, urinary tract, genitals
and skin. It contains ornidazole as its active ingredient. It works by inhibiting the growth of microorganism that causes infection. The dose and duration of the treatment with this medicine will be decided by your doctor. Complete the course of treatment for effective infection control.

Contraindications of Ornida 500 MG
- If you have an allergic reaction to ornidazole or other medicine belonging to the same class of medicines like metronidazole or any ingredient of Ornida Tablet

Pregnancy

You should avoid alcohol intake during the treatment and for at least 3 days after discontinuing the medicine.

It acts by interacting with the DNA of the microorganism and interferes with DNA replication, growth of microorganism and metabolic processes and thus, disrupts the microorganism responsible for causing infection....

- Take Ornida Tablet as a whole as instructed by your doctor after your meals
Interactions of Ornida 500 MG
Interactions with other medicines
- Some medicines can affect the way Ornida Tablet works or this medicine itself can reduce the effectiveness of other medicines taken at the same time.
- Tell your doctor about all the medicines, supplements or herbals you are currently taking or might take to avoid any possible interaction.
- Especially if you are taking muscle relaxants.
- Ornidazole can increase the blood-thinning effects of certain oral anticoagulant, your doctor may adjust the dose accordingly.
- This medicine can prolong the muscle relaxant effect of medicines like vecuronium bromide
- Be cautious if you are taking medicines like lithium used to treat depression, Cimetidine as antacids, antiepileptic medicine used to treat seizures and convulsions like Phenytoin and Phenobarbital.

Dosage of Ornida 500 MG
Overdose
Symptoms of overdose are nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, dry mouth, etc. If you think you have taken too much of this medicine, contact your doctor immediately or visit the nearest hospital
Missed a Dose
If you missed any dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take the next dose at the scheduled time. Do not take a double dose to compensate for the missed dose....
