Ondem 4 MG Description
Ondem 4 tablet is an antiemetic medicine. It is used for the prevention and control of nausea and vomiting. It contains ondansetron as its main component. Ondem tablets work by blocking the action of
the certain natural chemical serotonin, which causes nausea and vomiting. Nausea and vomiting is not a disease but is caused due to certain underlying conditions or as a side effect of certain medicines. Nausea is a feeling you feel as if you are growing to throw up the content of your stomach. Vomiting is uncontrolled reflux that makes you expel the contents of your stomach through the mouth. Ondem 4 tablets should be taken as directed by the doctor and in doses and duration as prescribed. Before using Ondem 4, inform the doctor about your detailed medical history, including all the medicines you are currently taking.

- Ondem 4 tablet is used to prevent and manage nausea and vomiting induced due to chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
- It is also used to relieve symptoms of nausea and vomiting before and after surgeries and operations.
Contraindications of Ondem 4 MG
- If you are allergic to ondansetron or any of the other ingredients of Ondem 4 tablet.
- If you are taking a medicine called Apomorphine, which is used to treat the loss of muscle control and muscle stiffness in Parkinson's disease.

Interactions with other medicines
- Some medicines can affect the way Ondem 4 tablet works or this medicine itself can reduce the effectiveness of other medicines taken at the same time.
- Tell your doctor about all the medicines, supplements or herbals you are currently taking or might take to avoid any possible interactions.
- Be cautious if you are taking medicine like Amiodarone for uneven heartbeats or arrhythmias.
- You may experience irregular heart rhythm if you take medicines like Doxorubicin, Trastuzumab, antihypertensive medicine such as Atenolol or Timolol, antimalarial medicine such as Halofantrine, antibiotic medicine like Erythromycin and antifungal medicine like Ketoconazole....
- You may experience low blood pressure and unconsciousness if you take Ondem 4 tablet along with Apomorphine. Hence, these medicines should not be used together.
- Medicines used to relieve pain like Tramadol may not work when taken along with Ondem 4 tablet.
- You may experience serotonin syndrome (symptoms like high body temperature, irritation, shakiness, sweating, widened pupils and diarrhoea), including abnormal mental state with medicines used to treat mental states like Citalopram or Sertraline....
- Other medicines like Phenytoin, Carbamazepine & Rifampicin may affect the action of Ondem 4 tablet.
