Description
Ofel 300mg Tablets is an antibiotic. It is used to treat bacterial infections of the lungs, throat, airways, nose and ears. Ofel 300mg Tablets contains Ofloxacin as an active ingredient. It works by
inhibiting the growth of bacteria responsible for infections. Ofel 300mg Tablets is used in the treatment of sexually transmitted diseases. Avoid during pregnancy and in lactating mothers. It is important to inform the doctor if you have allergies related to Ofloxacin or antibiotic usage. Ofel 300mg Tablets should be taken as directed by the doctor and in doses and duration as prescribed. Ofel 300mg Tablets is used for the treatment of respiratory infections (pneumonia, bronchitis), urinary tract infection, inflammation of bladder (Cystitis), Gonorrhoea (a sexually transmitted disease in both male and female genital organs)....
Contraindications
- If you are allergic to Ofel 300mg Tabletsacin or any other ingredients of Ofel 300mg Tablets .
- If you are allergic to the class of medicines called Fluoroquinolone.
- If you have a history of fits (epilepsy).
- If you have problems related to the tendon (a tissue connecting muscles to bones) like inflammation and swelling of the tendons (tendonitis).
- If you are pregnant or are planning to have a baby or if you are breastfeeding.
- If your age is less than 18 years.
- If you have Glucose-6-Phosphate Dehydrogenase deficiency (an inherited disorder that affects red blood cells) or a family history of this deficiency.

Directions for Use

Swallow it as a whole with a glass of water, do not cut, break or chew the medicine.

- Especially if you are taking other medicines simultaneously like dietary supplements that contain iron, aluminium, magnesium or sucralfate., Corticosteroids used to treat inflammation and swelling, Painkillers like Ibruprofen or Diclofenac, medicines like theophylline for respiratory disorders, used to treat diabetes like Glibenclamide, Certain medicines that may affect your kidney functions like Methotrexate, Cimentidine, Probenicid can interfere with the effect of this medicine when used together....
- There is an increased risk of bleeding when taken with medicines used to thin the blood like warfarin, acenocoumarol; it is advised to monitor the blood tests like PT-INR regularly.
- Increased side effects when taken with methotrexate which is used in the treatment of cancer.
