Medical Description
Neosporin powder is used to treat superficial bacterial skin infections in various skin conditions. Additionally, it is used to prevent skin infections on cuts, surgical wounds, scratches, skin injuries, and burns. This medication combines three different antibiotics: neomycin, polymyxin B, and bacitracin. Neosporin powder works by killing microorganisms or halting their growth. Neomycin and polymyxin B eliminate bacteria by damaging their structure, while bacitracin inhibits the growth of bacteria.
Neosporin Dusting Powder is meant for external use only. Clean the affected and apply a thin layer of Neosporin powder as your doctor prescribes. Wash your hands before and after applying this powder, and avoid contact with your eyes, nose and mouth. Treatment should not be continued for more than seven days without medical supervision.

Contraindications of NEOSPORIN POWDER 10GM
- If you are allergic to neomycin, polymixin B bacitracin or any other ingredient of Neosporin powder.
- If you have an ear problem or existing hearing loss.
- If you have kidney disease or kidney function problems.
- Neosporin powder should not be used in children below two years.
- Neosporin Powder should not be used to treat external ear infections if you have perforations in the eardrum.
- Avoid using it for a prolonged duration on a large skin area, as it has the potential to cause toxicity to the ears and kidneys.
