Neosporin Dusting Powder

• For the treatment of superficial bacterial skin infection in various skin conditions.
• To prevent skin infections on cuts, surgical wounds, scratches, skin injuries, burns etc.

• If you are allergic to neomycin, polymixin B bacitracin or any other ingredient of Neosporin powder.
• If you have an ear problem or existing hearing loss.
• If you have kidney disease or kidney function problems.
• Neosporin powder should not be used in children below two years.
• Neosporin Powder should not be used to treat external ear infections if you have perforations in the eardrum.
• Avoid using it for a prolonged duration on a large skin area, as it has the potential to cause toxicity to the ears and kidneys.

Other General Warnings

• You have hearing or kidney function problems, you are at an increased risk of developing kidney or ear toxicity.
• You have a history of getting antibiotic-induced diarrhoea, as the same can happen with this powder if applied for too long.
• You should avoid prolonged use of this powder as it can increase the risk of getting other infection.

• Clean the affected and apply a thin layer of Neosporin powder as prescribed by your doctor.
• Wash your hands before and after applying this powder and avoid contact with eyes, nose and mouth.
• Treatment should not be continued for more than seven days without medical supervision.

• Store Neosporin powder at a temperature not exceeding 30ºC.
• Keep out of reach of children and pets.

• Neosporin powder is a combination medication that treats various bacterial skin infections. Targeting the infection-causing microorganisms reduces symptoms such as redness, swelling, itching, and other related discomforts.
• Neosporin should not be used on private parts such as the vagina. However, you can only use this medicated powder if the cuts are outside your private parts. When applying this powder, you must follow the doctor's instructions.
• Use it on small, clean, superficial areas only. Do not apply it to large raw areas, deep or puncture wounds, or broken skin over a wide surface, where enough can be absorbed to affect hearing and the kidneys.
• Stop and see a doctor if the area becomes more itchy, red, or weepy after a few days. Neomycin is a common cause of contact allergy, and the reaction can easily be mistaken for a worsening infection.
• Do not use it for more than about a week without medical advice, and do not keep the bottle for repeated self-treatment of new wounds.
• A dirty or deep wound, an animal or human bite, or a wound from a rusty object needs medical assessment and possibly a tetanus injection rather than a dusting powder.
