Neosporin Powder 10gm
Description
Neosporin powder is a topical medication used to treat minor bacterial skin infections. It is especially helpful for preventing infections in small cuts, burns, scratches, or wounds after surgery. This powder helps keep the affected area clean and promotes healing by preventing the growth of harmful bacteria.
The medicine contains a combination of three antibiotics: neomycin, polymyxin B, and bacitracin. Each of these works in a different way to fight bacteria. Neomycin and polymyxin B break down the bacterial cell wall, killing the bacteria, while bacitracin prevents the bacteria from growing further.
Neosporin powder is intended for external use only and should not be swallowed or applied internally. Before using the powder, gently clean the affected area with water and pat it dry. Then, apply a thin layer of the powder as directed by your doctor. It's important to wash your hands before and after applying it.
Be careful not to get the powder in your eyes, nose, or mouth. If it does happen, rinse thoroughly with clean water. Also, do not cover the area with a tight bandage unless your doctor tells you to, as this might cause irritation or slow healing.
This medicine should not be used for longer than seven days unless your doctor advises you to continue. Using it for too long without supervision may lead to skin irritation or the development of antibiotic resistance. If your symptoms don’t improve or worsen, contact your doctor immediately.
