Monocef 1 G Description
Monocef 1gm injection is an antibiotic medicine. It is used to treat bacterial infections of the brain (meningitis), lungs, ear, stomach/abdomen, urinary tract, joints, and skin. It is also used during surgical procedures to prevent future infections.
This medicine contains ceftriaxone as its active ingredient. Ceftriaxone works by killing infection-causing bacteria. Your doctor will decide the dose, duration, and frequency of treatment after assessing your condition.
Some other ceftriaxone injections are Xoneceff 1gm, Zerox 1gm, Citizone 1gm, and Matrax 1gm.
Monocef 1gm injection will be given to you at a hospital under the medical supervision of the doctor and nurse. Do not self-inject and follow any aftercare instructions given by your doctor. You must complete the course of antibiotics as prescribed by the doctor.
Before starting this tablet, inform the doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy, or breastfeeding. Also, provide a detailed medical history and list the medicines and supplements you take.

Contraindications of Monocef 1 G
- If you are allergic to ceftriaxone or other ingredients of Monocef 1 gm Injection.
- If you are allergic to a class of medicines like cephalosporin.
- In case allergic to medicines like penicillins, monobactams and carbapenems.
- If a newborn suffers from jaundice or is on calcium injection treatment.
- If a newborn suffers from increased bilirubin in the blood.
- Ceftriaxone solution containing lidocaine must not be given as an injection.

- You have taken medicine or supplements containing calcium.
