Uses
- As per CDSCO and USFDA, Mirtee tablets are antidepressant medicines used to manage symptoms of all types of depression.
Contraindications
- If you are allergic to any component of this tablet.
- If you are already using different antidepressants such as MAO inhibitors in the last 14 days, it can cause severe adverse effects.
- If you have self-harming or suicidal thoughts.
- If you have low sodium levels (hyponatremia).
- If you have acute mania and are diagnosed with bipolar disorder.
- If you have severe kidney or liver impairment.
- If you have a severe heart illness such as a recent heart attack, heart rhythm problem such as long QT syndrome..
- If you have agranulocytosis (low white blood cells). This medicine can increase the chance of infection.
- If you were diagnosed with angle-closure glaucoma, an eye condition associated with an increase in fluid pressure inside the eye, this medicine can worsen the condition.
- If you have uncontrolled hypertension.
- If you have a history of seizure disorder.

- You have planned for a surgery or a dental procedure.
- You have high blood pressure.
- You have a heart, liver or kidney disease.
- You are using medicines that increase serotonin levels.
Directions for Use
- Take the Mirtee tablet precisely in the prescribed dose and the duration.
- Try to swallow the whole tablet with a glass of water; do not break or chew it.
- You can take Mirtee tablets with or without food.
- Do not use this medicine if its packaging is already open or damaged.
- Do not abruptly stop taking Mirtee medication, as it can have side effects.
- Do not increase the dose of Mirtee tablets, even if you do not notice its effects.
- It's better not to take it with other medicines without informing your doctor.

Interactions with other medicines
- Taking Mirtee tablets along with other antidepressant medications such as linezolid, diazepam, fluoxetine, etc., can cause severe reactions.
- Using high doses of opioid painkillers, such as tramadol, with Mirtee tablets can cause extreme drowsiness and other side effects.
- Combining Mirtee tablets with blood thinners like aspirin, warfarin, etc., can increase the risk of abnormal bleeding. Monitor INR (test for bleeding) while using them.
- Inform your doctor if you are using certain antibiotics, HIV medicines, etc., before starting your Mirtee regime.
- Cimetidine can increase the levels of Mirtee tablets, which can cause side effects due to an increase in the blood levels of Mirtee tablets.
- Mirtee tablets can interact with many other medicines. Inform your doctor of all current treatments and medication before taking Mirtee tablets.
