Medical Description
Melfalax tablet is a prescription oral anticancer medication in a group of chemotherapy drugs called alkylating agents. It is used for the treatment of multiple myeloma, advanced ovarian cancer, and may also be used as part of conditioning treatment before hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. The medication works by damaging the genetic material (DNA) in cells, preventing the rapid multiplication of abnormal cells and helping control cancer growth.
Melfalax tablet is available as tablets. Take it exactly as your doctor prescribes, and swallow the tablets whole with water. Because it can also affect healthy bone marrow cells, regular blood tests and close medical supervision are required during treatment.
