Medical Description

Mat Q 10 Tablets are an oral combination medicine used for short-term relief of pain, swelling and inflammation affecting joints, muscles and other painful areas. They contain aceclofenac and paracetamol. Aceclofenac reduces inflammation and pain, while paracetamol helps reduce pain and fever. The tablets are swallowed whole with water, used only as prescribed and intended for conditions selected by a clinician rather than prolonged self-treatment.

Uses

  • Joint pain and inflammation: Aceclofenac and paracetamol relieve pain, swelling and stiffness linked with osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis.
  • Muscle and back pain: The combination can reduce pain and inflammation from muscle conditions, back problems or painful strains.
  • Injury-related pain: Mat tablets may ease short-term pain and swelling after an injury when a clinician recommends them.
  • Dental, ear or throat pain: The combination can provide short-term relief for painful dental, ear or throat conditions.

Side effects

  • Indigestion: Aceclofenac can irritate the upper stomach, causing burning, fullness or discomfort; seek advice if it persists or affects eating.
  • Abdominal pain: Anti-inflammatory action may upset the stomach lining and cause cramping; stop and contact your doctor if pain is severe or worsening.
  • Stomach bleeding: Aceclofenac can injure the stomach or bowel; get emergency medical help for black stools or vomiting blood.
  • Allergic reaction: A new rash, itching or swelling may signal sensitivity; get emergency medical help for breathing difficulty or swelling of the face, lips or throat.

Precautions and Warnings

Pregnancy

Pregnancy

Do not use Mat tablets during pregnancy or while planning pregnancy unless your doctor specifically advises them. Anti-inflammatory medicines can harm the unborn baby, particularly later in pregnancy.

Breast Feeding

Breast Feeding

Do not use Mat tablets while breastfeeding unless your doctor specifically advises them. Tell your doctor that you are breastfeeding before treatment.

Driving

Driving

Mat Q 10 Tablets may cause dizziness, drowsiness or reduced alertness. Do not drive or operate machinery if you notice these effects.

Alcohol

Alcohol

Avoid alcohol while taking Mat Q 10 Tablets. The combination may increase stomach irritation, dizziness and the risk of paracetamol-related harm.

Directions for Use

Take this medicine as a whole with sufficient water. Mat tablets may be taken with or without food, but taking them with food may be gentler on the stomach. Do not crush, chew or break the tablet. Do not combine it with another paracetamol-containing or anti-inflammatory medicine unless your doctor advises it.

Storage and disposal

Store Mat Q 10 Tablets in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep them out of the reach of children. Do not use damaged or expired tablets. Ask a pharmacist about disposal of unused medicine.

Quick Tips

  • Swallow Mat Q 10 Tablets whole with water.
  • Do not use another product containing paracetamol or an anti-inflammatory painkiller without medical advice.
  • Avoid alcohol while using this medicine.
  • Stop and seek urgent help for black stools, vomiting blood, facial swelling or breathing difficulty.
  • Tell your doctor if you have a history of ulcers, heart problems, kidney problems or asthma after painkillers.

Dosage

Overdose

Too much paracetamol can cause serious poisoning even before symptoms appear, while excess aceclofenac may cause stomach pain, vomiting or bleeding. If you think you have taken too much of this medicine, contact your doctor immediately or visit the nearest hospital.

Missed a Dose

If you missed any dose of medicine, take it as soon as you remember. If it is time for your next dose, then skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dose schedule. Do not take a double dose of medicine to compensate for the missed one.

How does this medicine work?

One ingredient, aceclofenac, reduces the formation of chemical messengers that cause pain, redness and swelling. Paracetamol acts mainly in the brain to reduce pain and fever. Their combined action can improve comfort during painful inflammatory conditions.

Interactions

Interactions with other medicines

Some medicines can affect the way Mat tablets work. Tell your doctor about all the medicines, vitamins and supplements you take. In particular, blood thinners, aspirin, other anti-inflammatory pain medicines and corticosteroids can raise the risk of stomach bleeding; medicines for low mood can also increase bleeding. Medicines for high blood pressure, diuretics, heart conditions or kidney problems may have reduced effect or increase kidney strain. Other paracetamol-containing products can increase the risk of serious poisoning.

Interactions with food items

No specific food interaction is established. Taking Mat tablets with food may reduce stomach discomfort.
