Contraindications
- If you have allergies, patients with a known history of allergy to Lithium or any other inactive chemicals in this formulation should not take this medication.
- If you have severe Heart Disease, there is an increased risk of the patient's condition worsening.
- If you have severe Dehydration, there is an increased risk of the patient's condition worsening.

- You have Impaired Kidney Function-
- Because of the increased risk of severe side effects, this medicine should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. In some situations, close monitoring of kidney function, appropriate dose changes, or replacement with a suitable alternative may be required depending on the clinical condition.
- Fluid and Electrolyte Balance-
- This medication has the potential to change the body's fluid and electrolyte balance. It is recommended that this medicine be used only after a fluid and electrolyte imbalance has been rectified. Close monitoring, appropriate dose changes, or replacement with a suitable alternative may be required depending on the clinical condition.
- You have QT Prolonged-
- Because of the increased risk of worsening the patient's condition, this medication should be used with great caution in individuals with a known history of prolonged QT intervals. Any odd symptoms should be reported to your doctor right away.
Directions for Use
- Take Litholent SR 400 Tablet according to your doctor's instructions.
- It should be taken orally.
- Swallow the tablet as a whole. Do not chew, break or crush it.
- It can be taken with or without food.
- If you want to start following a particular diet, talk to your doctor first.

How Does It Work?
Interactions
Interactions with other medicines
- Litholent, when taken with carbamazepine, diltiazem, fluoxetine, and verapamil, may cause neurotoxicity.
- Combining Litholent with chlorpromazine may result in decreased serum concentrations of both medications.
- ACE medicine may raise the risk of Litholent poisoning by depleting sodium.
- Litholent with MAOIs should be avoided in general due to instances of fatal malignant hyperpyrexia from their use.
- Losartan may reduce Litholent clearance in the kidneys.
- Phenytoin may increase lithium toxicity.
- Litholent in combination with sibutramine may raise the risk of serotonin syndrome. Thus, it's recommended to avoid it.
- Salt bicarbonate and a high sodium diet may cause serum Litholent concentrations to drop due to increased excretion.
Interactions with food items
- Excessive amounts of coffee or tea are not advised.
