Levetiracitam is an antiepileptic (a medicine used to treat seizures in epilepsy).
Uses of Levipil 1gm Tab
Levipil 1gm Tab uses are - treatment of partial-onset epilepsy, myoclonic epilepsy (short, shock-like jerks of a muscle or group of muscles) and generalized tonic-clonic seizures in patients of epilepsy
Contraindications of Levipil 1gm Tab
- Known allergy (hypersensitivity) to Levipil 1gm Tab
- Kidney disease
- Decrease of all cells in the blood
- Decreased white blood cells
- Decreased neutrophils
- Suicidal thoughts and mental disorders (loss of personality and reality)
Side effects of Levipil 1gm Tab
- Inflammation of nose and throat
- Fatigue (tiredness)
- Loss of appetite
- Hyper movements
- Mental disorders
- Outbursts of anger
- Irritability and emotional changes
- An extended rash
- Increased levels of liver enzymes
- Eosinophilia and enlarged lymph
- Loss of memory
- Memory impairment

Can I take Levipil 1gm Tab during pregnancy?
This medicine should not be taken in pregnancy unless it is considered necessary by your doctor. Discuss with your doctor if you are pregnant or are planning a pregnancy.
Can I take Levipil 1gm Tab while breastfeeding?
Breast-feeding is not recommended during treatment as Levipil 1gm Tab passes into human milk. However, if advised by your doctor to continue breastfeeding, the baby must be watched for symptoms like drowsiness, adequate weight gain and developmental milestones.
Can I drive if I have consumed Levipil 1gm Tab?
You should avoid driving as it may make you sleepy.
Can I consume alcohol with Levipil 1gm Tab?
Alcohol can increase the Levipil 1gm Tab side effects such as dizziness, drowsiness, difficulty concentrating, impairment in thinking and judgment. Avoid alcohol when taking this drug.

How Does It Work?
Brain cells use electrical signals known as neurotransmitters to communicate. Seizures take place when brain cells are work abnormally or are working faster than normal. Levipil 1gm Tab joins with a protein that is involved with the release of neurotransmitters in the brain. It is assumed that its action slows down the abnormal nerve impulses in the brain.
Directions for Use of Levipil 1gm Tab
Always take this medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Levipil 1gm Tab must be taken twice a day, at the same time each day. Swallow Levipil 1gm Tab tablets with a sufficient quantity of liquid (e.g. a glass of water).

Symptoms include drowsiness, agitation, aggression, depressed level of consciousness, inability to breath and coma. Visit the emergency room immediately if you think you have taken too much of this drug.
Missed a Dose
If you have missed a dose, take it when you remember. However, if your next dose is due soon then skip the missed dose and go back to your usual schedule. Never take a double Levipil 1gm Tab dosage.
