Levera 750mg Tab is an antiepileptic, a medicine used to treat seizures in epilepsy.
Uses of Levera 750mg Tab
- Partial-onset epilepsy
- Myoclonic epilepsy (short, shock-like jerks of a muscle or a group of muscles)
- Generalized tonic-clonic seizures in patients of epilepsy
Contraindications of Levera 750mg Tab
- Known allergy (hypersensitivity) to levetiracetam
- Kidney disorder
- Decrease of all cells in the blood, including white blood cells such as neutrophils
- Having suicidal thoughts and undergoing mental disorders (loss of personality and reality)
Side effects of Levera 750mg Tab
- Inflammation of nose and throat
- Fatigue (tiredness)
- Loss of appetite
- Hyper movements, mental disorders, outbursts of anger,
- Vomiting, nausea

Can I take Levera 750mg Tab during pregnancy?
This medicine should not be used while you are pregnant or if you are planning to conceive. Weigh the advantages and disadvantages by discussing with your doctor first.
Can I take Levera 750mg Tab while breastfeeding?
Levetiracetam passes into breast milk and hence breastfeeding is not recommended during treatment. However, if your doctor allows it, monitor your baby for symptoms such as drowsiness, adequate weight gain and developmental milestones.
Can I drive if I have taken Levera 750mg Tab?
Levetiracetam makes you drowsy, hence kindly avoid driving after taking the medicine.
Can I consume alcohol with Levera 750mg Tab?
Side effects such as dizziness, drowsiness, difficulty concentrating, impairment in thinking and judgment increase with consumption of alcohol. It should be avoided when you are taking the medicine.

Talk to your doctor if
Inform your doctor immediately in case you have suicidal tendencies or you have kidney disorder, are on haemodialysis or have any history of blood-related abnormalities. Do not stop the medicine abruptly, as your doctor shall gradually decrease the dose of the medicine before stopping the dosage altogether.

How Does It Work?
Seizures take place when brain cells that normally talk to each other using electrical signals and chemicals do not work normally. Levetiracetam joins with a protein that is involved with the release of certain chemicals called neurotransmitters in the brain.
Directions for Use of Levera 750mg Tab
Swallow the tablet whole with water. Take the medicine exactly as advised by the physician. Do not stop taking or decrease/increase the doses on your own.

Interactions with other medicines
Do not take Levera 750mg Tab without consulting your doctor as levetiracetam interacts with acetaminophen, methotrexate, propoxyphene, aspirin, caffeine, buprenorphine, naloxone and sodium oxybate.

Dosage of Levera 750mg Tab
Drowsiness is the highest recorded overdose symptom. Other than drowsiness, agitation, aggression, depressed level of consciousness, inability to breath and coma have also been recorded as overdose symptoms. Seek emergency medical care immediately if you think you have taken too much of this medicine.
Missed a Dose
The missed dose should be taken as soon as remembered. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, then skipped the missed dose and take the next scheduled dose. Do not take a double dose.
