Medical Description
Leucorin Tablet is used to counteract the harmful effects of methotrexate, a cancer treatment medication. It contains calcium folinate (also known as Leucovorin calcium or folinic acid) as its active ingredient, which belongs to the class of detoxifying agents. Leucorin protects healthy cells from the negative effects of methotrexate while allowing the drug to target and kill cancer cells. Additionally, Leucorin is used in combination with 5-Fluorouracil as part of cytotoxic therapy for colorectal cancer.
Take Leucorin exactly as prescribed by your doctor, as the dosage and duration depend on your specific condition and treatment plan. Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water; do not crush, chew, or break it unless your doctor advises otherwise. You can take it with or without food, but it is recommended to take it at the same time each day. Do not self-medicate or adjust the dose without consulting your doctor, especially if you are undergoing cancer treatment. Do not discontinue this medication on your own, even if you feel better, unless your doctor instructs you to do so.
Before starting treatment, inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding. Additionally, disclose all medications you are taking, including supplements and herbal remedies.

- Leucorin Tablet is used to neutralize the harmful effects of methotrexate (an anticancer medicine).
- It is used to treat folate-deficient megaloblastic anemia.
- Treat overdose of folic acid antagonists such as methotrexate, trimethoprim, pyrimethamine, and trimetrexate.
- Used in combination with 5 Fluorouracil as part of cytotoxic therapy in colorectal cancer.
Contraindications
- If you are allergic to calcium folinate or any other ingredient of Leucorin Tablet.
- If you have any kind of anaemia due to vitamin B12 deficiency.
