Ketanov Dt tablets contain a medicinal compound called ketorolac tromethamine. These tablets are used after surgery to help manage pain, instead of opioids. Tablets are continued after this medicine
has been given through veins or intramuscular route first.

Uses of Ketanov Dt 10 MG
- Short-term management of acute pain (less than or equal to 5 days)
- Postoperative pain management
Contraindications of Ketanov Dt 10 MG
- History of allergy to Ketorolac
- Peri-operative pain after coronary bypass surgery
- Kidney impairment and those at a risk for it
- History of asthma
- Children below 16 years of age
- History of gastrointestinal bleeding or perforation or peptic ulcers
- Heart failure, liver impairment
- Pregnancy, breastfeeding, delivery or during labour
- Pain management before surgery
- Patients with high risk of bleeding or those taking anticoagulants
- With aspirin or other pain medications
- Probenecid, pentoxifylline should not be given with it
- Growths in nasal passages, angioedema or lung conditions

Pregnancy

How Does It Work?
It is not completely understood how Ketanov Dt tablets act. The main action is believed to be inhibition of synthesis of prostaglandins, substances in the body that send pain signals. Thus, when they are not produced, pain cannot be felt. Thus, the tablets act as an analgesic....
Directions for Use of Ketanov Dt 10 MG
- Take this tablet into a spoonful of water and allow it to disperse before taking it
- Take the medicine with food to lessen the risk of stomach upset
- Remember to take any other medications that your doctor has given
- Requires dose adjustment in patients above 65 years of age or below 50 kg weight
Interactions of Ketanov Dt 10 MG
Interactions with other medicines
- If given with anticoagulants like warfarin, the chances of gastric bleeding increase tremendously
- Other pain medications (NSAIDs) and aspirin can also increase chances of gastric effects of given together
- Due to increased risk for gastric ulceration and bleeding, medicines used in asthma like corticosteroids should be given with caution
- If given with oxpentifylline, it may cause bleeding in the stomach
- Ketorolac may cause toxicity of methotrexate if given concomitantly
- This medicine can decrease the response of the body to Furosemide or other diuretics if given together
- Giving cyclosporin or tacrolimus and ketorolac together can cause harm to the kidneys
- Other blood pressure management medications can impair kidney function if administered concurrently
- Medicines used to treat heart conditions may worsen cardiac failure chances of given together
- Quinolone antibiotics and ketorolac increase the risk of the patient for convulsions
- Zidovudine and ketorolac increase the risk of blood toxicity if given together
- Concurrent treatment with lithium or probenecid is also not advised
