Jalra-DP tablet is an anti-diabetic medication. It contains a combination of vildagliptin and dapagliflozin as active substances. Jalra-DP tablet is used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus that is not
properly controlled by metformin alone. Please do not modify the dose or stop it before the prescribed duration, even if you feel better. Patients are advised to maintain a strict exercise and diet regimen along with this medicine to get the best possible effect. Uses of Jalra Dp Strip Of 10 Tablets
Jalra-DP tablet is used for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus that is not adequately controlled by metformin alone.
Contraindications of Jalra Dp Strip Of 10 Tablets
- If you are allergic to vildagliptin, dapagliflozin or any other ingredient of Jalra-DP tablet.
- If you have acute metabolic acidosis (a condition where the body produces an excess of acidic components and alters the pH of the body).
- If you have diabetic pre-coma (unconsiousness), dehydration or severe infection.
- If you have severe kidney failure.
- If you have heart or respiratory failure, or are in a state of shock.
- If you had an excess of alcohol or are alcoholic.

- Dizziness

Other General Warnings
Talk to your doctor if
- You have kidney failure or kidney disease, or you are on dialysis.
- You have liver disease.
- You develop pain, swelling or redness in the genital area, then immediately contact your doctor.
- You are elderly (above 65 years of age).
- You have type 1 diabetes (i.e. your body does not produce insulin) or if you have a condition called diabetic ketoacidosis.
- You are taking an anti-diabetic medicine known as sulphonylurea (your doctor may want to reduce your dose of sulphonylurea when you take it together with Vildagliptin in order to avoid low blood glucose [hypoglycaemia])....
- You suffer from heart failure.
- You have or have had a disease of the pancreas.
- You have previously taken Vildagliptin & Dapagliflozin individual components but had stopped taking them because of liver disease, you should not take this combination.
- You observe any skin lesions.
Mode of Action of Jalra Dp Strip Of 10 Tablets
How Does It Work?
- Vildagliptin increases insulin production by the body after a meal and decreases sugar production by the liver.
- Dapagliflozin lowers excess blood sugar levels by excreting it through urine. It inhibits the reabsorption of glucose in the kidneys. Thus, glucose can be eliminated through the urine.

- Swallow this medicine as a whole with sufficient water.
- Always take this medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor.
Interactions of Jalra Dp Strip Of 10 Tablets
Interactions with other medicines
- Some medicines can affect the way Jalra-DP tablet works or this medicine itself can reduce the effectiveness of other medicines taken at the same time.
- Tell your doctor about all medicines, supplements or herbals you are currently taking or might take to avoid any possible interaction.
- Particular care should be taken if you are taking medicines called water pills (diuretics) like furosemide and hydrochlorothiazide. These may increase the risk of dehydration and low blood pressure when taken along with Jalra-DP tablet....
- Inform your doctor if you are on insulin injections or any thyroid medicines.

Overdose

Missed a Dose
You should never miss your blood sugar medicines as they may lead to fluctuations in blood sugar. If you missed any dose of Jalra-DP tablet, take it as soon as you remember. If it's time for your next dose, then skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dose schedule. Do not take a double dose of medicine to compensate for the missed one....
