Medical Description

Inlyta tablet is a prescription oral targeted cancer therapy that belongs to a class of medications called protein kinase inhibitors. It is used for the treatment of advanced renal cell carcinoma (kidney cancer) in adult patients when previous systemic therapy has not been successful. It works by blocking vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) receptors, which are involved in forming new blood vessels that help tumors grow.

The medicine comes as film-coated oral tablets for regular dosing. You can take it with or without food, but consistent timing and administration are important to maintain stable drug levels in the body.

Treatment with Inlyta tablet requires regular medical supervision. Your doctor will monitor your blood pressure and may perform blood and urine tests to check for side effects and adjust the dose when needed.

Be aware of possible side effects such as high blood pressure, diarrhoea, fatigue, nausea, hand-foot syndrome, and changes in thyroid or liver function.

How does this medicine work?

Inlyta tablet blocks VEGF receptors 1, 2, and 3. These receptors help cancer cells form new blood vessels that supply the tumor. By blocking these signals, Inlyta tablet can slow new blood vessel formation and help slow cancer growth and spread.
