Medical Description
Gzide Xr M Tablet is an anti-diabetic medicine used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus. It contains a combination of gliclazide and metformin as active ingredients. It is used along with a healthy diet and regular exercise for the control of high blood sugar in patients having diabetes.
Take this medicine as prescribed and for the duration recommended by your doctor. It would be best if you took it at a fixed time for optimal results and should not consume it more than that prescribed by your doctor. Also, it is suggested to keep a regular check on blood sugar level during the treatment, either in laboratory or at home if you have the blood glucometer with you.
The medication should not be taken if you are allergic to its components, have pre-existing liver or kidney problems, any heart disorder, lung disease, blood-related disorders, or if you consume excessive alcohol.
You must also avoid it if you are pregnant, as it can harm the unborn baby, or if you have a planned surgery. If you are breastfeeding, it's advised not to continue, as the components can pass into breast milk and potentially harm the newborn. Consult your doctor about all existing medical conditions and any planned surgeries before starting this treatment.
