Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Gemita Injection contains gemcitabine, an anti-cancer medicine.

Gemita Injection is used for the treatment of ovarian cancer, non-small cell lung cancer, breast cancer, pancreatic cancer and bladder cancer.

Gemita Injection can cause side effects, primarily affecting rapidly dividing cells. The most common ones are low blood cell counts, which increase your risk of infection (fever, chills), severe fatigue (anemia), and bleeding/bruising (low platelets); your doctor will monitor this closely with blood tests. Other common effects include flu-like symptoms, nausea, and hair thinning.

The medication is given directly into a vein. This is always done in a hospital, clinic, or outpatient chemotherapy center by a trained healthcare provider (nurse or doctor).
