Medical Description

Fosaport Dry powder for injection is used to prevent nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy, including symptoms that may occur later after treatment. It contains fosaprepitant, which changes in the body to aprepitant and blocks a natural chemical signal involved in the vomiting reflex. This helps stop nausea and vomiting signals in the brain and digestive system. The powder is prepared and given into a vein by a doctor or nurse in a hospital or clinic as part of a treatment plan.

Fosaprepitant changes into aprepitant in the body. The active form blocks a natural chemical signal that activates vomiting messages in the brain and digestive system. This helps prevent early and delayed nausea and vomiting linked with chemotherapy.

In particular, do not receive it with pimozide; tell your doctor about hormonal contraceptives because Fosaport may reduce their effectiveness, warfarin because it may reduce its effect, dexamethasone or methylprednisolone because their levels may rise, and other medicines processed by the liver.
