Mode of Action

How Does It Work?

Rifampicin, isoniazid, pyrazinamide, and ethambutol are all anti-tuberculosis medications found in Forecox tablets. Isoniazid works by preventing TB bacteria (Mycobacterium tuberculosis) from creating their protective covering. Rifampicin acts by inactivating an enzyme called RNA-polymerase, which is required for TB bacteria to reproduce. Ethambutol and pyrazinamide function by blocking the proliferation of these bacteria, hence limiting their growth. They all work together to kill the bacteria and get rid of the ailment.
