Other General Warnings

Other General Warnings

Talk to your doctor if
  • You experience a fever, chills, or any signs of an infection, as prompt medical evaluation is critical due to suppressed immunity.
  • You notice unusual pale skin, extreme fatigue, or dark urine, which can be signs of autoimmune hemolytic anemia.
  • You develop neurological changes, such as confusion, agitation, weakness, or vision loss.
  • You require a blood transfusion, as any blood products given during or after fludarabine therapy must be irradiated to prevent transfusion-associated graft-versus-host disease.
  • If you need a blood transfusion: Tell your doctor that you are receiving fludarabine, as irradiated blood products may be required during and after treatment to reduce the risk of a serious transfusion-related complication.
  • If you have kidney problems: Tell your doctor, as kidney function affects how fludarabine is removed from the body, and your treatment may need to be adjusted.

Directions for Use

This injection will be given by a doctor or nurse in a hospital or clinic setting. Do not self-inject. • Report any unusual bleeding, bruising, or severe fatigue to your healthcare provider immediately.
  • Maintain good hygiene and avoid contact with people who have infections during treatment.

Overdose symptoms may include severe nausea, vomiting, and severely reduced blood cell counts. As this medicine is given by a doctor or nurse, overdose is unlikely, but if you have any concerns, contact your doctor immediately or visit the nearest hospital.

Missed a Dose

This medicine is given by a doctor or nurse as part of a planned treatment schedule, so you are unlikely to miss a dose yourself. If you are unable to attend a scheduled appointment for this medicine, contact your doctor or clinic as soon as possible to reschedule. Do not attempt to make up for a missed dose on your own.

How does this medicine work?

Fludarabine works by interfering with the growth of abnormal blood cells and stopping their multiplication. It damages the DNA of cancer cells, preventing them from dividing and growing further.

Interactions

Interactions with other medicines

Some medicines can affect the way this medicine works or increase the risk of serious side effects. Tell your doctor about all medicines you are taking, including over-the-counter medicines and supplements. Your doctor will monitor for interactions and may adjust your treatment accordingly.

Interactions with food items

There are no significant interactions with food. However, maintain good nutrition during treatment to support your body's recovery.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

The frequency of injections depends on your specific condition and treatment plan. Your doctor will determine the schedule and may adjust it based on how you respond to treatment and your blood test results.
Inform your doctor immediately if you develop fever, sore throat, rash, or other signs of infection. During chemotherapy, your immune system is weakened and infections can become serious quickly.
This depends on your individual response to treatment and the severity of side effects. Discuss with your doctor about whether you can continue working or if you need time off for treatment and recovery.
