- Ezolent tablet is used for the person with the following:
- Insomnia
- Panic disorder
Contraindications
- Ezolent 0.5 mg tablet is contraindicated in the following cases:
- If you are allergic or hypersensitive to Etizolam
- If you have any respiratory disorder
- If you have narrow-angle glaucoma (an eye disorder)
- If you have myasthenia gravis (muscle disorder)
Side effects
- The side effects of Ezolent include the following:
- Drowsiness
- Dizziness
- Weakness
- Dry mouth
- Agitation
- Muscle stiffness
- Agitation
- Unusual movements

- You have a history of kidney, liver, respiratory disorders
- You or your family member has a history of mental illness like depression
- You have suicidal thoughts after taking the Ezolent tablets
- You are currently consuming any medicine, vitamins or supplements, even ayurvedic or any other category.
- You want to drive or operate any heavy machinery after taking an Ezolent tablet.
- You want to stop or alter the dose of the Ezolent tablet. Kindly do not discontinue the medicine without consulting your doctor.
- You have withdrawal symptoms characterised by lightheadedness, nausea, vomiting, tremors, sweating, flushing, etc.
- You feel you have formed a habit and feel the urge to take the medicine beyond the dose.
- You have an allergic reaction and are having hives, skin rash, swollen tongue, etc., after taking the Ezolent tablet.
- Your problem does not improve after 7-10 days of taking the medicine.
Directions for Use
- Take Ezolent 0.5 mg only with a doctor’s recommendation. Take the medicine for a short period, which is around 12 weeks.
- Do not discontinue the Ezolent tablet on your own. The dose should be tapered gradually. Kindly inform your doctor if you have to alter or stop the medicine for any reason.
- Take Ezolent tablets with or without food.
- Consume the tablet orally with water. Do not crush or break it.

Interactions with other medicines
- Ezolent 0.5 mg tablet is known to interact with other medicines.
- These include Chlordiazepoxide, Alprazolam (anti-anxiety), (Acetazolamide (glaucoma medicine). Ezolent 0.5 mg tablet can increase the severity of side effects.
- Amitriptyline (anti-depressant) tends to increase the depressive effect on the nervous system.
- Phenobarbital (anti-epileptic), Carbamazepine (anti-epileptic) increase the metabolism of Etizolam making it less effective.
- Cimetidine (anti-allergic), Erythromycin (antibiotic), Fluconazole (antifungal) decrease the metabolism of Etizolam leading to increased rick of side effects.
