Ezolent 0.5 mg tablet is a prescription medicine given to a person who has insomnia. It is also used to relieve the symptoms of panic disorder. The Ezolent 0.5 mg tablet has Etizolam as the main ingredient. Etizolam belongs to a class known as Benzodiazepines. It works by regulating certain chemicals in the brain that induce sleep. Ezolent 0.5 mg can exhibit various side effects like drowsiness, dizziness, weakness, dry mouth, agitation, muscle stiffness, etc. Ezolent tablet is taken according to the dose recommended by the doctor. The medicine should not be discontinued without consulting a doctor. It can lead to withdrawal symptoms that can last for weeks to months. The medicine must be tapered gradually and is usually prescribed for 12 weeks. The doctor needs to be informed if the patient does not notice any improvement in 7-10 days. Other General Warnings

Talk to your doctor if

  • You have an allergic reaction and are having hives, skin rash, swollen tongue, etc., after taking the Ezolent tablet.
  • Your problem does not improve after 7-10 days of taking the medicine.

Directions for Use

  • Take Ezolent 0.5 mg only with a doctor’s recommendation. Take the medicine for a short period, which is around 12 weeks.
  • Do not discontinue the Ezolent tablet on your own. The dose should be tapered gradually. Kindly inform your doctor if you have to alter or stop the medicine for any reason.
  • Take Ezolent tablets with or without food.
  • Consume the tablet orally with water. Do not crush or break it.

Storage and disposal

Store Etizolam tablets at a place away from direct heat and light sources. Do not store the tablets in direct sunlight. Store Ezolent tablets at room temperature and do not need refrigeration. Keep the tablets away from the reach of children and pets at home. Please do not get rid of unused medicines by flushing or draining them at home. Missed a Dose

Please take the Ezolent tablet as soon as you remember you have missed a dose. If it is almost time for the next dose, please skip the missed dose. Never double the dose, as it can lead to severe side effects and even overdose. You can set the alarm to remind yourself of the dose if you tend to forget the timings often.

  • Amitriptyline (anti-depressant) tends to increase the depressive effect on the nervous system.
  • Phenobarbital (anti-epileptic), Carbamazepine (anti-epileptic) increase the metabolism of Etizolam making it less effective.
  • Cimetidine (anti-allergic), Erythromycin (antibiotic), Fluconazole (antifungal) decrease the metabolism of Etizolam leading to increased rick of side effects.
