Medical Description

Erylent gel is an antibiotic for external use on the skin, used for acne and certain bacterial skin infections. It contains erythromycin, which reduces susceptible bacteria that can contribute to infection and inflamed pimples. By limiting bacterial protein production, erythromycin slows bacterial growth and can reduce inflammation in treated areas. Apply a thin layer to clean, dry, unbroken skin in the affected area, and use it for the period prescribed by your doctor. Erylent gel is not for use inside the eyes, mouth or nose.

  • Acne: Erythromycin reduces acne-related bacteria and inflammation, which may help limit pimples and new breakouts on affected skin.
  • Bacterial skin infection: The gel helps control susceptible bacteria on the skin and supports clearing of a bacterial infection when a doctor prescribes it for that purpose.
