Doxy C capsule is an antibiotic medicine. It is used for the treatment of various bacterial infections of the lungs, throat, airways, skin, eye, and genitals. It contains doxycycline as an active ing
redient. It is a broad-spectrum antibiotic that belongs to a group of medicines called tetracycline antibiotics. Doxy C capsule or any antibiotic should not be used when you are not sure if the infection is due to bacteria. Take this medicine in the exact dose and duration as prescribed by the doctor. Complete the entire course of antibiotics as prescribed by the doctor or it may lead to relapse or return of the infection. Avoid skipping a dose or consuming it more than recommended. Do not stop taking the medicine on your own. Before using this medicine, inform the doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy, or breastfeeding and about your detailed medical history. Doxy C capsule should not be used during tooth development (last half of pregnancy; infancy and childhood to the age of 8 years) as it may cause permanent discolouration of the teeth.

- You are going to be exposed to sunlight for prolonged durations.
- You are already taking oral retinoids or isotretinoin.
- You develop diarrhoea after using this medicine.

- Doxy C capsule should be taken exactly as recommended by the doctor.
- Swallow it as a whole with a glass of water.
- Do not cut, break or chew the medicine.
- It can be taken with food or milk.
- It would be best if you take it at a fixed time for optimal results.
- Do not consume more than the dose prescribed by your doctor.

Interactions with other medicines
- Certain medicines can interfere with the action of Doxy C capsule or this medicine itself can affect the action of other medicines taken at the same time.
- Inform your doctor about all medicines, supplements, or herbals you are currently taking or might take to avoid possible interaction.
- Especially if you are taking medicines used to treat brain-related disorders like alprazolam and anti-epileptic medicines like phenytoin.
- Other medicines that should be used with caution with Doxy C capsule are medicines used to treat acne like isotretinoin, oral contraceptives, anticoagulants like warfarin and heparin, penicillin antibiotics, and immunosuppressants like ciclosporin....
- Antacids and other supplements containing iron, calcium etc. should not be taken simultaneously with Doxy C capsule. There should be a gap of at least 2 hours.
