Medical Description
Defcort 6 Tablet is a prescription medication used to treat various inflammatory conditions, including rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, asthma, and inflammatory bowel disease. It contains deflazacort, a corticosteroid that reduces inflammation and helps control overactive immune responses in the body. This relief alleviates symptoms like pain, swelling, and stiffness.
It is very important to take Defcort 6 Tablet exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Do not increase, decrease, or stop the medication suddenly without medical advice, as this may cause unwanted withdrawal effects or a worsening of your condition. Your doctor will determine the correct dose and duration based on your health needs.
Other medicines containing the same active ingredient, deflazacort, include Defza 6 tablet, Deflac 6 tablet, Defcicot 6 tablet, Cortimax 6 tablet, and Zefcort 6 tablet. All of these work similarly and are prescribed for managing inflammation-related disorders.
Like all medicines, Defcort 6 Tablet may cause side effects. Common ones include acne, nausea, headache, and mood changes. These usually improve as your body adjusts to the medication, but if they persist or become bothersome, seek medical advice. Since deflazacort can weaken your immune system, it is important to inform your doctor if you have any existing infections or develop new symptoms during treatment.
If you have liver or kidney problems, are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning a pregnancy, consult your doctor before starting Defcort 6 Tablet. Your doctor may adjust the dose or suggest an alternative treatment. Regular follow-ups, eating a healthy diet, and following your doctor’s instructions will help you gain the maximum benefit from this medication.
