• Myelodysplastic Syndromes (MDS) in adults, including primary and secondary MDS.
• Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) in adults, particularly newly diagnosed patients who are not candidates for standard induction chemotherapy.
• Biomarker and Staging Requirements: A full baseline bone marrow aspirate/biopsy, cytogenetic analysis, and complete laboratory panels (CBC, renal function, and liver function tests) are required before starting therapy.

• You have a known severe allergy to decitabine or any of its ingredients.
• You are pregnant unless your specialist specifically advises otherwise after careful consideration.
• Breastfeeding is not recommended during treatment.

• Severe bone marrow suppression, leading to low white blood cells (neutropenia, leukopenia), low red blood cells (anaemia), and low platelets (thrombocytopenia)
• Nausea, persistent vomiting, constipation, diarrhoea, and abdominal pain
• Fever (pyrexia) and frequent fatigue or physical weakness
• Mouth sores (stomatitis) and mucosal inflammation
• Cough and upper respiratory tract infections
• Headache and insomnia

• Pneumonia, sepsis, and other severe bacterial, viral, or fungal infections
• Cellulitis and localized skin infections
• Increased liver enzymes or elevated bilirubin on blood tests
• Skin rash, dryness, or itching
• Joint and muscle pain (arthralgia, myalgia)

• Febrile Neutropenia and Systemic Infection: A fever accompanied by shaking chills, rapid heart rate, or confusion.
• Uncontrolled Bleeding: Frequent nosebleeds, bleeding gums, dark purple bruises, blood in urine, or black tarry stools resulting from severe thrombocytopenia.
• Severe Allergic Reactions (Anaphylaxis): Difficulty breathing, swelling of the face or throat, rash, or severe dizziness during or after infusion.

• Decitex injection is administered only by intravenous infusion by a trained healthcare professional.
• The infusion duration and treatment schedule depend on the prescribed regimen.
• Your doctor determines the dose based on your condition, body surface area, blood counts, and overall health.
• Do not attempt to self-administer this medicine.
• Inform your healthcare professional if you develop pain, redness, swelling, or discomfort at the IV site.

• Decitex injection is stored, prepared, and handled strictly by hospital pharmacists and qualified medical staff.
• Keep unopened powder vials at controlled room temperature below 25°C (77°F) in their original packaging to protect them from light.
• Once reconstituted and diluted, use the IV solution within a short time (or refrigerate at 2°C to 8°C for limited hours, depending on clinical preparation guidelines).
• Clinical personnel dispose of unused liquid or vials in accordance with hazardous cytotoxic waste protocols.

• Attend all scheduled appointments and blood tests.
• Report fever, chills, unusual bleeding, bruising, severe weakness, or breathing difficulty promptly.
• Avoid close contact with people who have infections when your white blood cell count is low.
• Maintain good oral hygiene and use a soft-bristled toothbrush to help prevent mouth sores.
• Tell your doctor before starting any new medicine, supplement, or vaccine.
• Do not take painkillers or fever medicines without consulting your oncology team, particularly if you develop a fever.
