Comtus Linctus has chlorpheniramine maleate and codeine as active ingredients, used to treat dry cough. Chlorpheniramine maleate is an antiallergic. It works by preventing a chemical messenger (histamine) from causing cough in allergy sufferers. Codeine is a cough suppressant. It lowers the activity of the cough centre in the brain resulting in suppressing coughing....
