Coldmine syrup is a combination of three ingredients: cetirizine, phenylephrine, and paracetamol. Cetirizine stops the action of a natural substance called histamine. This helps to reduce allergy sym
ptoms. Phenylephrine causes constriction in the blood vessels, resulting in relief from nasal congestion. Paracetamol inhibits the synthesis of natural molecules involved in inflammation. It also decreases body temperature by acting on the heat-regulation centre in the brain. This medicine is only available on a doctor's prescription and should be taken at a dose and for a duration prescribed by the doctor.
