Directions for Use

Shake well before each use. Use the measuring cup or spoon provided to measure the exact dose. Do not use a household spoon as it may not give the correct dose. Swallow the medicine directly without diluting. Take Codofyline at the same time each day, preferably in the evening after food. Do not consume more than the prescribed dose.

Storage and disposal

Store this medicine at room temperature, away from heat and direct sunlight. Keep it in the original container and out of reach of children. Do not freeze. Do not use after the expiry date.

Quick Tips

  • Take Codofyline at the same time each day, preferably in the evening
  • Shake the bottle well before each use
  • Use the provided measuring cup or spoon for accurate dosing
  • Codofyline does not work for sudden breathing problems; always keep a rescue inhaler with you

Dosage

Overdose

If you have taken too much Codofyline, contact your doctor or visit the nearest hospital immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include severe nausea, vomiting, tremor, rapid heartbeat, or seizures.

Missed a Dose

If you missed a dose of Codofyline, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. Do not take a double dose to compensate.

How does this medicine work?

Codofyline relaxes the smooth muscles in the airways of the lungs, widening them and improving airflow. This makes it easier to breathe and reduces wheezing and shortness of breath. Codofyline is used for prevention and maintenance of chronic respiratory conditions, not for relief of sudden breathing emergencies.

Interactions

Interactions with other medicines

Some medicines can affect how Codofyline works. Tell your doctor about all medicines you are taking. In particular, inform your doctor if you are taking medicines for seizures, heart conditions, or medicines containing caffeine, as these may interact with Codofyline.

Interactions with food items

Avoid caffeine-containing foods and beverages (tea, coffee, chocolate, cola) while taking Codofyline, as this may increase the risk of side effects such as restlessness, tremor, or heart palpitations.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

No. Codofyline is for prevention and maintenance of chronic asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease symptoms. It does not work right away and should not be used for sudden breathing problems. Always keep your rescue inhaler with you.
Both doxophylline and caffeine can stimulate the nervous system. Combining them may increase the risk of headache, restlessness, tremor, and heart palpitations. Avoid tea, coffee, chocolate, and cola.
Codofyline may take several weeks of regular use before you notice improvement in your breathing symptoms. Continue taking it exactly as prescribed even if you do not see immediate results.
