Medical Description

Amlovas AT 50 mg tablet is an antihypertensive medicine used for treating high blood pressure and angina pectoris, a condition characterised by chest pain, tightness and squeezing in the chest radiating towards shoulders, arms and neck. It contains a combination of two medicines, namely amlodipine and atenolol, that works by lowering the blood pressure, heart rate and contractility of heart muscles.

A combination of atenolol and amlodipine as active substances is also present in the following tablets: Amlokind AT tablet, Amlopres AT 50, Amodep AT, and Amlopres AT 50. Patients with kidney and liver problems, as well as the elderly, should be cautious while taking this medicine. Amlovas AT 50 mg tablet should be used under medical prescription and for the exact duration it is prescribed.

Some common side effects of this medicine are headache, nausea, tiredness and stomach pain, but not everybody gets them.
