Clomach 25 MG Description

Clomach 25 mg tablets belong to the class of atypical antipsychotics. It is primarily used to treat schizophrenia. Schizophrenia is a condition characterised by symptoms like delirium, hallucinations

, and abnormal thinking processes. Clomach 25 mg tablet contains Clozapine as its active ingredient. Some of the most common side effects of the medicine are nausea, indigestion, decrease in appetite, sweating, tremors, diarrhoea, and low blood pressure levels. You may experience restlessness and involuntary movement of muscles. Most of the symptoms are mild and should go away within a few days if using the medicine. However, if these side effects bother you, you should consider consulting a doctor. You should inform your doctor about all the medicines you take before starting this medicine. This would prevent any adverse interaction between the medication. It would also help tell your doctor about all the pre-existing conditions, like epilepsy, diabetes, kidney, and liver diseases. It would help if you tried to take the medicine at a particular time of the day. This should replenish the chemical substances in the nerve endings.

Contraindications of Clomach 25 MG

Clomach 25 mg tablets are contraindicated in the following cases:
If you have a condition called prolactinoma. Prolactinoma is a tumour in the endocrine gland of our body. Clomach 25 mg tablet can worsen the condition
If you have had allergic reactions to its use in the past
If you are pregnant or planning to get pregnant
If you are a child below 15 years of age
If you are breastfeeding female as it decreases the secretion of breastmilk
If you have pre-existing kidney diseases, Clomach 25 tablets should be prescribed with caution as the medicine is excreted out through the kidney.
If you have liver disease, the dose should be modified
If you have heart disease, Clomach 25 mg tablet should be prescribed with caution as it can increase the chances of stroke
If you have a history of convulsions, dose modification should be done as Clomach 25 mg tablets decrease the threshold of seizure

Breast Feeding

Can I take Clomach 25 mg tablet while breastfeeding?

It is not advisable to take Clomach 25 tablets during breastfeeding as it can pass through the breastmilk and cause adverse effects like sedation, lethargy, poor feeding, and low blood pressure levels in the baby. Clomach 25 tablets can decrease the secretion of breastmilk.

Can I drive if I have taken Clomach 25 mg tablet?

You should not drive after taking a Clomach 25 mg tablet because this medicine causes drowsiness and lethargy. You should avoid operating any machinery as it causes impairment in judgement.

Antiarrhythmics (flecainide) can increase the risk of developing bradycardia, arrhythmia, hypotension, and heart failure.
Antihypertensive medicines (reserpine, methyldopa, clonidine, guanfacine) can decrease heart rate and force contraction with Clomach 25 mg tablets.
Insulin can cause hypoglycemia if used with the Clomach 25 mg Tablet.
Antacids (Cimetidine, omeprazole) slow down the absorption of the Clomach 25 mg tablet.
Clomach 25 mg tablet prolongs the action of anti-depolarizing muscle relaxants.
Antidepressants (fluoxetine) cause drowsiness and sedation if used with the Clomach 25 mg tablet.
Sedatives, hypnotics (benzodiazepines, barbiturates) can cause extreme drowsiness and a decrease in respiratory rate if used with the Clomach 25 mg tablet.
Alcohol can cause sleepiness and palpitations if taken with the Clomach 25 mg tablet.
Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (Selegiline) can cause symptoms like palpitations, flushing, convulsions, and coma if used with the Clomach 25 mg tablet.
