Cheston Cold tablet is used in allergic rhinitis and nasal congestion. It is a combination medicine. This tablet contains paracetamol, cetirizine and phenylephrine as active ingredients. You should n

ot use Cheston Cold if you are allergic to any of the components of this medicine. Recommendation of this medicine to anyone with similar symptoms to yours is strictly prohibited. Do not use the medication without your doctor's prescription. Before using Cheston Cold, inform the doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding. Also, mention your detailed medical history, including all the medicines you are currently taking. You should not take Cheston Cold tablet if you have high blood pressure problems or have any liver disease.

How Does It Work?

  • Paracetamol inhibits prostaglandin synthesis, which is responsible for pain. It also acts on the thermoregulatory centre in the brain and blocks the effect of pyrogen (which is responsible for fever).
  • Cetirizine inhibits the allergic symptoms produced by histamines (a certain chemical substance which is released by the body).
  • Phenylephrine acts by constricting the arterioles of the nasal mucosa and helps in nasal decongestion.
