Cabgon 0.25 MG Description
Cabgon Tablet contains cabergoline as its active ingredient. It is used to treat high levels of prolactin in your body. Cabgon can also be used in stopping breast milk after childbirth, stillbirth, a
bortion, or missed pregnancy. This medicine should be taken as directed by the doctor and in doses and duration as prescribed. It should be taken with or after having your meals. This medicine is not recommended for use in children below 16 years of age.

Uses of Cabgon 0.25 MG
- Cabgon Tablet is used for the treatment of high levels of prolactin hormone in your body.
- It can also be used in stopping breast milk production immediately after abortion, stillbirth, childbirth, or missed pregnancy.
Contraindications of Cabgon 0.25 MG
- If you are allergic to cabergoline or any other ingredients of Cabgon Tablet.
- If you are allergic to other medicines known as ergot alkaloids (ergotamine, lisuride, pergolide, ergometrine, bromocriptine).
- If you are taking medicines to treat your mental health (risperidone, quetiapine, olanzapine, etc). If you are not sure what these medicines are, please confirm with your doctor.
- If you have problems with your liver.
- If you are pregnant and have uncontrolled high blood pressure, combined with swelling and protein in the urine.
- If your doctor has told you that the tissues in your stomach, heart, or lungs have become damaged and scarred.
- If you have a history of psychosis after childbirth.
- If you are taking this medicine for a prolonged duration and experience any problems related to your heart valves.
- If you are a pregnant woman or breastfeeding mother.

Pregnancy

Mode of Action of Cabgon 0.25 MG
How Does It Work?
Cabgon Tablet works by blocking or reducing the release of a hormone in the brain called prolactin that stimulates breast milk production.
Directions for Use of Cabgon 0.25 MG
- Cabgon Tablet should be taken as directed by your doctor.
- Swallow it whole with a glass of water.
- It should preferably be taken with or after food.
- It would be best if you took it at a fixed time for optimal results.
- Do not consume more than the dose prescribed by your doctor.
Interactions of Cabgon 0.25 MG
Interactions with other medicines
- Some medicines can affect the way Cabgon Tablet works or this medicine itself can reduce the effectiveness of other medicines taken at the same time.
- Tell your doctor about all the medicines, supplements, or herbals you are currently taking or might take to avoid any possible interactions.
- Concomitant use of Cabgon Tablet along with medicines like chlorpromazine, haloperidol (used to treat mental health), domperidone, metoclopramide (used to treat nausea and vomiting) may reduce its effectiveness. Thus, they should not be used simultaneously....
- Concomitant use along with medicines like pergolide, bromocriptine, lisuride, ergotamine (used to treat severe migraine headaches), medicines like levodopa (used to treat Parkinson’s disease), antibiotics like erythromycin may increase the amount of this medicine in your blood and this could also increase the side effects....
Storage and disposal of Cabgon 0.25 MG
- Store Cabgon Tablet in a cool and dry place, protected from direct sunlight, moisture, and heat.
- Keep it away from children and pets.
Dosage of Cabgon 0.25 MG
Overdose
An overdose of Cabgon Tablet may lead to symptoms like nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, constipation, and indigestion. If you think you have taken too much of this medicine, contact your doctor immediately or visit the nearest hospital....
Missed a Dose
In case you've missed any dose of Cabgon Tablet, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose. Avoid taking a double dose to compensate for the missed one....
