• Conditioning treatment prior to conventional hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) in adult and pediatric patients.
• Palliative treatment of chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) and other chronic myeloproliferative disorders.

• If you have a known hypersensitivity or severe allergic reaction to busulphan or any of the inactive excipients in the tablet formulation.
• If your chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) is in a blastic phase or resistant to prior busulfan therapy.
• If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

• Profound myelosuppression leading to a low white blood cell count (neutropenia), increasing infection risk
• Low red blood cell count (anemia), causing fatigue, weakness, and shortness of breath
• Low platelet count (thrombocytopenia), leading to easy bruising or bleeding
• Nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, and diarrhea
• Alopecia (hair loss or thinning)
• Amenorrhea (cessation of menstrual periods) and impaired fertility.

• Mouth sores (stomatitis) and mucosal inflammation
• Skin hyperpigmentation (darkening of the skin)
• Dizziness, headache, and weakness
• Elevated liver enzymes and jaundice

• Severe, life-threatening infections and sepsis due to prolonged immunosuppression
• Pulmonary toxicity, including interstitial or fibrotic lung changes
• Hepatic veno-occlusive disease (VOD) affecting the liver
• Secondary malignancies and acute leukemia
• Seizures (particularly at high conditioning doses, for which anticonvulsant prophylaxis may be used as directed by the treating specialist

Other General Warnings

• You have pre-existing liver or kidney impairment, as specialized monitoring and dosage adjustments are critical.
• You have a history of seizure disorders, as preventive medication may be required during high-dose regimens.
• You experience sudden shortness of breath, dry cough, or breathing difficulties, which could indicate lung toxicity.
• You notice yellowing of the skin or eyes, severe upper abdominal pain, or rapid weight gain, which can be signs of liver complications.

• Take Busulmax injection orally exactly as prescribed by your doctor, following your specific treatment cycle schedule.
• Swallow the tablets whole with a glass of water; do not crush, split, or chew them.
• Take your daily dose at the same time each day, as directed by your oncology care team.
• Continue your treatment course precisely as scheduled; never alter your dose without consulting your physician.

• Store the tablets as specified in the product information, in their original packaging, and protected from light and moisture.
• Keep out of reach of children and pets, and store in a secure location.
• Do not keep expired or unwanted tablets; return unused medicine to your pharmacist or hospital clinic for safe disposal.

• Keep all scheduled blood test appointments so your doctor can monitor your blood cell counts before and during treatment.
• Report any signs of infection, such as fever, chills, sore throat, or unusual cough, to your medical team immediately.
• Watch for unusual bruising, tiny red spots on the skin, or bleeding from the gums or nose.
• Stay well-hydrated and inform your doctor right away if you experience breathing difficulties, a dry cough, or upper abdominal pain.
• Inform all your healthcare providers that you are taking this medication before undergoing any other medical procedures or dental work.

Interactions with other medicines

• Avoid taking live vaccines during treatment unless your doctor specifically advises you to do so, as your immune system may be weakened.
