Brivex Eye Drop is a combination of two medicines, Brinzolamide and Brimonidine, which act together to reduce the raised pressure of your eyes and hence relieve the symptoms of eye discomfort and hea

dache associated with it. Increased pressure in eyes may cause damage to your eyesight if not treated. Burning, irritation and discomfort of eyes are some common side effects of this medicine. If side effects bother you or there is no improvement in your condition, inform your doctor.

Uses of Brivex Eye Drops 5ml

For the treatment of increased pressure of eyes (open-angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension).

Contraindications of Brivex Eye Drops 5ml

If you are allergic to Brinzolamide, Brimonidine or any other ingredient of this eye drop.
If you are allergic to certain diabetic medicines of the sulphonamide group.
If you are taking some medicines for mental health disorders (MAO inhibitors, tricyclic antidepressants).
If you are suffering from severe kidney disorder.
If you are suffering from increased acid levels in the blood (hyperchloremic acidosis).
For children below 2 years of age.

It is not advised to consume alcohol while using Brivex Eye Drop as it may lead to worsening of certain side effects.

The pressure inside eyes is raised due to either excessive secretion of fluid (aqueous humour) or reduced outflow of the fluid.

Directions for Use of Brivex Eye Drops 5ml

Use this medicine as instructed by your doctor.
Follow directions carefully & do not miss an application.
Wash your hands thoroughly before and after instilling.
Close your eyes for 2-3 minutes and do not blink or squeeze.
Avoid touching your eyes with the dropper. Keep the dropper clean.
Wipe any excess liquid from your face with a tissue.
Use the exact number of drops recommended.

Interactions of Brivex Eye Drops 5ml

Interactions with other medicines

Concomitant use of oral medicines of the same group or blood pressure-lowering medicines should be done with caution.
Medicines containing salicylate may cause acid-base imbalance when given together with Brivex Eye Drop.
Side effects may worsen if medicines acting on the central nervous system like anaesthetic agents, opiates, barbiturates or sedatives are given concomitantly.
Medicines given for mental health disorders (MAO inhibitors, antidepressants) should be used with caution.
Discuss with your doctor about any other medicines, herbal preparations and supplements you are taking currently to avoid any interactions.

A: Brivex Eye Drop will not cause blindness but do not self-medicate. Use this medicine on doctor's prescription only.

Q: Can I use Brivex Eye Drop while wearing my contact lenses?

A: Do not use this medicine while you are wearing contact lenses. If your doctor has allowed you to use lenses, remove contact lenses before instillation of Brivex Eye Drop and wait at least 15 minutes or more before reinsertion. A component of this eye drop (Benzalkonium chloride) is known to discolour soft contact lenses.

Q: Can I use Brivex Eye Drop for ear infection?

A: No, Brivex Eye Drop is meant to be used as an eye drop. Do not use it for ears. Consult your doctor for the problem in your ears.

Q: I have been prescribed 3 eye drops by my doctor. Can I use them all together?

A: If you have been prescribed multiple eye drops or ointments, make sure you give a gap of 15 to 20 minutes between the application of each.
