Can I take Arbitel 80mg Tab during pregnancy?
No. It is harmful to the foetus. Do not take the medicine during pregnancy or if you plan to conceive.
Can I take Arbitel 80mg Tab while breastfeeding?
No. It is not recommended for breastfeeding mothers. Although, there is no research to prove that it gets transmitted through mother's milk, it is advisable to consult your doctor.
Can I drive if I have consumed Arbitel 80mg Tab?
It is not known to affect the driving ability, but if you experience dizziness or feel drowsy, it is best to avoid driving.
Can I consume alcohol with Arbitel 80mg Tab?
Alcohol can reduce blood pressure and can cause drowsiness and sedation. So, it is advisable to avoid drinking alcohol with the medicine.

Inform your doctor, if you have a history of angioedema (which causes swelling of the face, lips, tongue and throat), excessive vomiting and diarrhoea. If you are known to have narrowing or blockage of the blood vessels leading to your kidneys or had kidney transplant recently, suffer from heart failure with or without renal impairment or concomitant severe life-threatening cardiac arrhythmias, liver disease, heart disease, and have high blood pressure and diabetes-related kidney problems.

How Does It Work?
Angiotensin-II produced in the body contracts the blood vessels. This leads to high blood pressure. Telmisartan prevents angiotensin-II from binding to its receptors so that the blood vessels can relax and the blood pressure is thereby reduced.

The dosage of Arbitel 80mg Tab should be taken strictly as prescribed by the physician.

Interactions with other medicines
Many medicines are known to interact; hence, any medicine that the patient is taking has to be reported. Aspirin and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) reduce the impact of this medicine on the blood pressure, angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors, azathioprine, lithium, aspirin and aliskiren (used to treat heart problems) and diuretics (that increase potassium levels in the blood).
Interactions with food items
When you take Arbitel 80mg Tab, avoid foods high in potassium because the combination of these foods with the medicine may cause side effects such as weakness, irregular heartbeat, confusion, tingling sensation in the extremities or heaviness in the legs. It is best to opt for a diet that is low on salt.

In rare cases, it could cause serious kidney problem or make an existent kidney problem worse.

Store the medicine at room temperature away from light and moisture. Keep away from children.
Dosage of Arbitel 80mg Tab
Dosage of telmisartan is very crucial. An overdose could cause an increase in heart rate and reduce blood pressure. It could also lead to kidney failure. In some cases, it causes dizziness and loss of consciousness. It is also known to increase potassium levels in the blood. In case of an overdose, if you notice the above symptoms, contact your doctor immediately.
Missed a Dose
In case of a missed dose and if it is almost time for the next dose, go ahead with that and forget about compensating for the missed dose. Do not take an extra dose to make up for the missed one.
