Mode of Action of Amlong 7.5mg Tab

How Does It Work?

It is an angioselective calcium channel blocker, which inhibits the movement of calcium ions into cardiac muscle cells and vascular smooth muscle cells and thereby inhibits the contraction of cardiac muscle and vascular smooth muscle cells. Amlong 7.5mg Tab prevents calcium ion influx across cell membranes with more effect on vascular smooth muscle cells. Hence this causes vasodilation and a reduction in peripheral vascular resistance, thus lowering blood pressure. It also has effects on the cardiac muscle which also prevents excessive constriction in the coronary arteries.
