- Akt 2 tab is used in,
- Treatment of tuberculosis
Contraindications
- If you have any known allergic reactions to the components of Akt 2 Tab.
- If you have any pre-existing liver conditions.
- If you have kidney disease.
- If you have diabetes.
- If you are a chronic alcoholic.
- If you have pre-existing blood disorders like haemolytic anaemia, agranulocytosis, aplastic anaemia, etc.
Side effects

- Loss of appetite
- Yellowish discolouration of skin or eyes
- Dark coloured urine

- You notice yellowing of skin or nails.
- You have a sensation of tingling or numbness on your hands or feet.
- You experience any vision problems.
- You experience symptoms of a decrease in blood sugar levels (hypoglycaemia) like sweating, confusion, and palpitations.
- You experience side effects that are persistent or worsen in time.
Directions for Use
- Take Akt 2 Tab as advised by your physician.
- Take Akt 2 Tab on an empty stomach and at a particular time of the day.
- Do not exceed the recommended dosage.
- Do not stop taking Akt 2 Tab without consulting your physician first.

Interactions with other medicines
- Akt 2 Tab may interact with these medicines.
- Clofazimine
- Dapsone
- Halothane
- Antifungals like ketoconazole
- Anticonvulsants
- Benzodiazepines
- Haloperidol
- Theophylline
- Warfarin
- Antacids
- Corticosteroids
- Most of these medicines interact with Akt 2 and decrease the absorption and efficacy of either. Rifampicin and Isoniazid in the body. In some cases the drug interactions lead to increased problems in the liver(hepato-toxicity).
Interactions with food items
- Akt 2 Tablets should be taken on an empty stomach. This is because food decreases the absorption of one of the components of the Akt 2 Tablet, rifampicin. You should avoid food items rich in tyramine like cheese, beer, red wine, salmon fish, and meat.
