Acivir Cream is an antiviral medicine used to treat skin infections caused by the Herpes simplex virus like herpes labialis (commonly called cold sores). It contains acyclovir (aciclovir) as its acti

ve ingredient. It is meant only for external application and should be applied exactly as recommended by your doctor. You may experience some application site reactions as side effects, but they normally fade away with time. Please report to your doctor if you notice the side effects persist or worsen. Acivir Cream should not be used by patients below 12 years of age.

Still, this medicine should be used only under medical supervision. Your doctor will only prescribe you this medicine if considered essential after assessing the benefits over risks. In case this medicine is prescribed to you, avoid using it in larger skin areas for a prolonged duration.

If Acivir Cream is prescribed by your doctor, you should avoid using it on the breast or areas near the breast or any large area of the body for a prolonged duration.

Do not let this Cream get into your eyes, nose, mouth or on your hair. If it happens, rinse with water thoroughly.
